Join FCPL's Summer Challenge (June 12-August 6)

For decades, Fresno County Public Library has hosted an 8-week summer reading challenge to incentivize reading practice and keep kids and teens from losing skills built during the academic year. Kids and teens have earned prizes for completing reading log assignments, and we've hosted a wide range of performers and fun activities in Library branches.

This year, we've decided to upgrade our traditional summer reading program and rename it the "Summer Challenge," to reflect the Library's commitment to promoting critical thinking and creative exploration. We hope you read many books this summer, of course, but we also want you to embrace all sorts of learning opportunities. To that end, we've lined up some exciting, interactive STEM and arts events for you this summer (find out more by clicking on the "Kids" and "Teens" tabs at the top of this site), and instead of the old reading log, we now have an activity log for each age group. Complete a variety of small challenges to earn entries into prize drawings.

Also new for 2017, we're offering you a free book of your choice, just for signing up! When you complete all 8 weeks of the challenge, you're eligible to receive an additional book.

Interested? Read on for more details!
